| 831779 | 2010-01-11 03:53:00 | I think it appropriate to quote a previous post of mine that highlights some pre-motherf***er history which Harawira conveniently chooses to overlook: A bit OT, but let's look at the history of Ngapuhi. In the book Ancient Celtic NZ by Martin Doutre, he gives a compelling account of some unsettling events in NZ history. In the early 1800's settlers in the Dargaville / Waipoua areas came across in excess of 10,000 skeletons in caves or trees. In each case, the skulls were almost ritually bashed in on the same side. The Governor of the day being cognisant of the issues, needed to ensure the remains were disposed of appropriately, and asked local iwi what their instructions were. They replied it was not of their (Ngapuhi) concern, as the remains were "not of us". Being a pragmatist, the Governor decided that as no-one wished to lay claim to the remains, they would be be shipped by barge to Onehunga there to be crushed into bonedust. Each skull was counted, and this data recorded in the New Zealand Gazette, the Diary of the Nation. Subsequently, some surviving remains were carbon dated during last century. The results of the carbon dating were embargoed until I think around 2070. I'm not sure of the date, but it is important to recognise the date was fixed so that the results would not impact on any person living at the time of the carbon dating. Between the lines, the date of the genocide would possibly be fixed not much before the Treaty of Waitiangi. Mr Harawira should be cautioned about those living in glass houses etc. But of course, glass is a white mf invention so possibly may be out of order here. |

Any body aware of the DOCUMENTED copy of this activity on the chatams, victims being Moriori. Also the documented eating, simply for pleasure and ego, in that event.. :stare: |

Wait, no, I don't. It was the Egyptians who invented glass... Are they whitey-mofos? :p All of this is getting to be a bit much. Can't believe this thread has been going on so long... I think we all need to get rid of what a politician said. After all, publicity (good or bad) is part of their job. And I am sure he represents the like-minded-ness of his electorate, for better or worse ain't that the point of democracy? |

We pay these people - in most cases, salaries the "rest of us" can only dream of. They at least owe us respect. Respect is not shown by abusing the majority of the taxpayers who pay his over-the-top salary. Respect is not shown by those who own a house in Wellington, rent it out and then still sponge off the taxpayers for another subsidised accomodation. Respect is not shown by taking your "partner" halfway around the world (even if it's a "perk") while businesses close down and we're told to tighten our belts. Shutting up because they're allowed free speech, so are beyond critisism while treating us with contempt? Not on my dime. |

| 831788 | 2010-01-13 21:33:00 | No . . . we don't . Missing the point completely . We pay these people - in most cases, salaries the "rest of us" can only dream of . They at least owe us respect . Respect is not shown by abusing the majority of the taxpayers who pay his over-the-top salary . Respect is not shown by those who own a house in Wellington, rent it out and then still sponge off the taxpayers for another subsidised accomodation . Respect is not shown by taking your "partner" halfway around the world (even if it's a "perk") while businesses close down and we're told to tighten our belts . Shutting up because they're allowed free speech, so are beyond critisism while treating us with contempt? Not on my dime . Nope . Sorry . You only count if you are in his electorate . This PC crap goes both ways . If it was one of us who said something like a brown mofo, a lot more people would scream . Can anyone here say that we haven't said something racist in a private conversation? If you look at pressf1 Chat you'll find more than 5 dozen threads with something racist in them, from starving africans to bloody maoris to ragheads of Iraq to gook, etc . What the guy said was in a private conversation after all . I am sure plenty of non-caucasians call us white bastards as it is . What's the big deal? I think it's fair to say that most of us here are anti-PC as it is, so why apply it to him . Let him call it how it is and use his rhetoric and family legacy . The guy is scum, yeah we all know . When Laws suggested we castrate Maori (implicitly), most people here were for it . How is that being less racist or arrogant than Hone? He's a politician too, ain't he? We really need to put a check on these double standards . The reality is, I reckon what Hone said will get him even more votes in the next election than what he got this time around . Shame on the Maori party for not expelling him, but free speech is a grand concept either we all have it or we all don't . No PC censorship for me thanks . |
