He will be reminded when we Whites start saying things about maoris and he had better keep his trap shut.

831750 2009-11-20 23:07:00 We never did stole their land... they were (still are) just really bad businessmen!

It is a fact that vast tracts of Maori land were confiscated in the late 1800's. That can't be denied. Certainly other parts were 'sold' but I'm not sure both sides had the same understanding as to the true nature of the transaction.

Personally I think Hone is a lone voice (seeking media attention, which we are fueling) and not all Maori (politicians and people) share his views.

831751 2009-11-20 23:25:00 Hell yeah, Plenty of land was out and out raped off the Maori, and plenty of people died, and many more had their lives ruined.

:horrified

I don't support the grievance industry in any way shape or form but lets be real about the History of our fair country.

831753 2009-11-20 23:54:00 Meh, Time rolls on.None of the people claiming to be harddone by were alive at the time.

Nothing was done to them at all, well apart from providing massive resources for a better life.

Education, Health care, Housing, food, Clothes, Water, electricity, sewage systems, ACC, Library's, Playstations, roads, running water, Jails and Booze.

Whose dumb enough to believe that some stone-age people running around the bush in a constant state of war (with short breaks for famine and disease) with a life expectancy of 21 had it better?

831754 2009-11-21 01:41:00 It would be hard to find any reasonable person to argue with the above, but Doug Grahame seems to say we owe them for taking land from them in the past, illegally? Cicero (40)
831755 2009-11-21 01:43:00 I notice his site has FTP open, and a flakey CMS...

Just saying.
