1118789 2010-07-14 23:41:00 Im not sure why my 1st thread was closed, I certainly didnt get a working solution....possibly could have been worded a bit better

Anyway..
On a business network, Im after recommendations for software to monitor
which websites are being visited; on a per pc basis & can be monitored
on a central PC. Obviously this will require a PC setup as a gateway/proxy

Most bandwidth meters etc only track the actual PC the software is loaded on, not really suitable for what I'm after( I dont want it to be able to be disabled on a PC)

Kerio is one possibilty, but the cost is going to be around the $1000 mark.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

1118790 2010-07-14 23:53:00 How large is the business? Cellux (15145)
1118791 2010-07-15 00:24:00 approx 10-15 workstations, SBS2003 server.
They have a spare PC that can be configured & used just to run any monitoring software off/setup as gateway if needed.

1118793 2010-07-15 00:48:00 I use www.digirain.com at home.

Shows network usage and can setup rules for limits and such. It requires an ISA server though.

+1

There are other similar open-source (i.e. free) solutions out there, but Untangle is certainly one of the easier ones to use.

1118795 2010-07-15 02:03:00 Google does web management, though not sure if 15 users is viable....all you do is point the gateway to one of there servers, not hardware required.

Not sure if tangle actually have an analysis tool with it, though Cyfan Reporter does analysis Squid logs!
