831327 2009-11-18 22:07:00 Finally they have a decent capacity.

Now all we need is decent prices

And by then, we should get an idea of how reliable these things actually are

831328 2009-11-18 22:25:00 And by the time the price comes down, there will be something else that will be bigger and better. convair (13650)
831329 2009-11-18 22:44:00 The next thing will probably be based on the Memristor
en.wikipedia.org
It will possibly replace RAM & HDD.

You mean that 64GB/128GB isn't a decent capacity?

831332 2009-11-19 01:28:00 Impressive:
"...capable of up to 260MB/s reads and writes, up to 220MB/s sustained writes, and up to 14,000 IOPS. That puts the Colossus right up there with the fastest spec'd drives on the market."

831333 2009-11-19 01:29:00 I really cant see the sense in a 1TB SSD.....what, you going to store video, music & p0rn on it?...I guess games would be viable, however I'd rather spend the dosh on a new GPU, monitor or game peripheral (wheel!) SolMiester (139)

Or quite possibly PCM (Phase Change Memory).

Indeed. I reckon a 120GB SSD would be plentiful for my OS and games.
