1119980 2010-07-19 02:36:00 Hi there - have just upgraded from XP to a new computer with Windows 7 Home Premium. Just wondering if it is still considered best practice to turn off Windows System Restore?? Dadzka (6620)
1119981 2010-07-19 02:40:00 Depends if you want to use it sometime. In which case, you cant if you turn it off. I dont think its best practice to turn it off completely. You usually disable it if you've got malware. And after you remove that, you turn it back on.

But it can take up a bit of space, so if you're short on hdd space, you can turn it off
