| 1119890 | 2010-07-18 07:13:00 | recently acquired an old epson printer with a b-type usb connection. our modem has the same connection so i assume we can use it as a print server of sorts(d-link 502T gen 2)??. not sure if dick smith smith has the cable needed but gonna check on tuesday. if not where can i get a cable from? cheers |

| 1119891 | 2010-07-18 07:28:00 | What? All printers have a USB B cable. The modem does not have a print server built in - that connector you see is an alternate means of connecting it to your PC (instead of ethernet). If it had a print server it would have the A type USB socket in it. |

If its the same as This modem/Router (www.dlink.co.nz) the USB connection is not a printer port, its as PCTek said,its a "alternate means of connecting it to your PC (instead of Ethernet)" Picture from Manual (www.imagef1.net.nz) tells you what each port does. An Example (www.dlink.co.nz) of a router with a printer port -- Look in the description on the right or its Manual Picture (www.imagef1.net.nz) |
