1119762 2010-07-17 13:00:00 Hey I have a pc that I have setup to auto-login so a program can start and I want screensaver to start as soon as the user account logs in, is there a way to do this? Machine is running XP nedkelly (9059)
1119763 2010-07-17 16:22:00 Could you just put a shortcut to the .scr file in the startup menu? CYaBro (73)
1119764 2010-07-17 22:27:00 I would make a .bat and get it to autorun on logon

So, open a new notepad file and type

@echo off
START C:\Windows\System32\ variable .scr /MAX
exit

variable is the name of the screensaver file. then go to save as, set the file type to "all files" and call it sceen.bat or what ever you want, as long as it ends in .bat

You then convert it it to an .exe so it can be added to the startup programs www.f2ko.de the online version is here www.f2ko.de

1119767 2010-07-18 01:01:00 Maybe running the app as a service would be a better option?
That way you don't need to autologon.
NTWrapper (lite is free) will do it if the app itself doesn't.

Depends on the requirements of the app of course.

1119769 2010-07-18 01:51:00 This article here (www.ehow.com) explains how to set it to run almost instantly, 1 second after startup. No idea if it works, never tried it. wainuitech (129)
