832976 2009-12-10 11:27:00 the_bogan - it's already pass 11.59pm Thursday. Do you still want a bit more time?

If he needs it I'm agreeable. I was sitting here waiting for it!

832977 2009-12-17 00:02:00 Why has no one else voted? I thought it was a fantastic debate. roddy_boy (4115)

832980 2009-12-21 05:28:00 Two more days left to vote!

I think the official debate thread was difficult to read due to all the non-debate posts. So ... I've moved them into this thread - in case you are wondering why this thread now looks a bit weird/messy. ;)

Affirmative > Negative by one vote.

832983 2009-12-23 04:58:00 And only five votes which really suprised me. But 60% for and 40% against.

The mods can take the sticky off now I guess.

Congratulations guys, it was a pleasure arguing with you both - thanks for an interesting debate .

I must admit I was also surprised by the low number of votes - I know that participants weren't allowed to vote, but I thought there'd be more than 5 spectators! Certainly the number of thread views would indicate an awful lot more...

My thanks to your side too. Once again I learned from the research I had to do to support the affirmative.

This debate was somewhat difficult on both sides due to drop outs on both sides in my opinion.

I think I was lucky that I got very able support from Jamuz after Cato dropped out and the negative was left very much in the lurch when the_bogan dropped out.

Methinks we probably will not do this again however unless the two teams can organise backups and backups to the backups etc.

The part that interested me was that Chilling Silence had a similar thread running during the debate which would appear to be on the negative side.

Anyway Erayd I thank you for your input.
