| 834146 | 2009-11-27 21:35:00 | One of my 'hates' is people who have had a problem, so post in this forum, get replies helping them, then fail to post back acknowledging success or failure, and thanking those who helped. I would have thought it common courtesy to do so. :angry:mad: To give an alternative point of view....I have been guilty of this in the past. I find, for whatever reason, the email 'reminders' that some has posted in a thread to be very 'erratic' here, significantly more so than other sites. Maybe I have a dodgy setting??? Anyways, point being maybe some people don't think there have been replies because they haven't had an e-mail saying so, therefore don't post back? Devils advocate over! |

| 834147 | 2009-11-27 22:21:00 | Well, there could be a reason....even after a good solution has been given within the first couple of replies, every Tom Dick and Harry still want to add their :2cents:, until there are sometimes maybe 2 or 3 pages of responses, many of which become irrelevant as the thread goes off topic, or repetitions of what has already been said.............:stare:That's my feeling, too. Although thanks are a good thing, sometimes the thread does just go way off course, or peter out. | Tony (4941) | ||
| 834148 | 2009-11-28 05:00:00 | Ungratefulness is all over the place, even in real life in say the supermarket. Being a checkout manner I sometimes get complete morons who won't say hello back or say thanks after. I don't really need it myself, but it's nice if a customer would say hi and thanks sincerely. Sometimes I'd be surprised by how some big, mean-looking guys would actually smile and say hello and all that, probably make some small talk. |

Did you judge a book by its cover? some of the nicest guys I know are ugly bastards, they make metla look pretty. |

Well, the guys looked like they just killed a dude, drank the blood from the skull, then went to the supermarket wanting to buy a coke and some roast chicken. |

I used to only have the urge to ram cars with Jesus saves/radio Rhema and baby on board stickers now I have a third category of potential ramees. I only hope my teaching my two kids to say please and thank you will hold them in good stead in later life. |

| 834154 | 2009-11-28 19:45:00 | Manners are getting the bit between asking for help and going off to do something else. | Cicero (40) | ||

On the contrary Cicero - the level of manners is so low these days, it leads me to suspect that bad manners are indeed being taught. I suspect it is part of the NCEA curriculum... :D |
