833701 2009-11-26 04:26:00 Global warming has happened many times before and will happen many times in the future. We should get over ourselves.

How about we stop blaming a valid natural process on ourselves and get on with our lives without giving away our hard worked money for some second-rate-hippy of an excuse.

833702 2009-11-26 05:17:00 It is just the ups and downs of the world, as have been taking place for billions of years.

Man is polluting as hard as he possibly can and this may have a small bearing on the matter.

However, in a million years time (probably sooner) man will not exist, having destroyed mankind. Someone/thing else will have the problem.

The answer to man made pollution over the next few hundreds of years is simple... STOP BREEDING!!!!!!!

Let's have another world war or several.

12 year old kids can breed so we send all the teenagers to war.

Or for the next world war we send all the list MPs or all the MPs and chuck in all the civil servants who advise MPs.

833705 2009-11-26 06:21:00 But breeding is fun

Another wrong thing from you.

Can two homosexuals have sex and have fun?
Yep.
Can two lesbians have sex and fun.
Yep.
Either relationship will not lead to a growth in the population though.

Breeding costs anyway. Either the breeders or the taxpayers. Doesn't look like fun for the women anyway.

833706 2009-11-26 06:31:00 Well I’ve always said it was a load of Hog Wash and even if it wasn’t, Taxes were no more likely to fix it than they are a flat tyre .

The problem is, apart from a faulty science, the Shiny Asses have thought of a way to just “Clip the ticket” and make a dollar . Our Prime Minister is a master at it and has the $Millions to prove it . ;)

But let’s ignore cause for the moment and look at effect . We’ll say all the dreadful things do happen and the temperatures do rise a couple of degrees . Woweeeee!

The other night on TV some near hysterical woman was explaining the oceans would rise 50mm . Really . Hello, the tide down my way rose and fell about 1 . 5 metres today and hardly anyone noticed . In the Bristol Channel and Bay of Fundy the Tides rose and Fell 15-16 Metres and never made the news .

Then, not long ago, we’re told history was made when someone managed to get through the North West passage . Wow, must have forgotten that Roald Amundsen made it in a 60 ft wooden boat in the very early 1900’s .

By all means tidy up needless pollution, but trying to stop animals farting by taxing them is absolutely ridiculous .

However, another part of all this that concerns me deeply is our children, and in my case grandchildren, are having all this nonsense rammed down their throats in a brain washing type exercise used very effectively by churches for hundreds of years .

I fear for them, the kids that is . :(

833707 2009-11-26 07:19:00 This may be something from which science never fully recovers, and it discredits all scientists. When it was just a few oddballs acting fraudulently, like the Piltdown Man affair, or the Frog with his dilute solutions fraud, it didn't matter much, but this is the stuff of world wide conspiracy, and New World Order..........

I think you should tell us the answer Ter,with a bit of Lucas thrown in.

All to some 20's noise.oops,music.

Just ask the knowalls on this forum.

833709 2009-11-26 09:04:00 You're all missing the point. Even if pollution by mankind doesn't contribute to climate change as much as predicted pollution by mankind pretty much ****s up the health of mankind, wildlife and the environment. There has to be a focus on all of that.

You have to stop looking at climate change as one independent thing because if you don't include everything else (pollution, other harmful substances etc) you're just going to have the same discussion over and over again without coming to a useful conclusion.

Not only that, when we say climate change it's not only the all kinds of gassy crap we shoot up to the atmosphere. It is also the clearing of forests, turning fertile lands into suburban areas that contributes to climate change as with these destructive practices allows more of the sun's rays to absorbed by the earth instead reflected back. On a global scale 'climate change' is not as well understood, but on a local scale the effects, at least on a biological level, pollution and unusual weather patterns can have profound effects.

Yes, I also believe there is some sort of make-money conspiracy some ***holes are making up like this ETS bull and the Kyoto crap but really, talking loudly on PF1 and ignoring other issues surrounding climate change isn't going to do much. It is up to individuals to team up and speak up to demand governments to show extreme transparency and scrutiny on where our money is going when it's going to these ETS schemes.

I agree with martynz's comment (which I assume is sarcastic!?). Fudgin heck.

833710 2009-11-26 10:06:00 Eat fewer sausages to save the planet from global warming', Britons warned.

Cutting a sausage a day from the average British diet is necessary to save the planet, scientists claim.

Having read that, I'm determined to have sausages for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day this week to do my bit for climate change.
