1119583 2010-07-16 23:15:00 Hi,

I need some help/advise. My son is 4 and has his own computer. Its the second time he messes up his computer, just by clicking around on things. Is there a program that would restrict him from accessing windows components?
Normally I put all his games that I install an icon shortcut to the desktop and internet pages on the desktop as well, but he still clicks on other things and this will mess up everything?!
I hope you know what I mean. I have been googling but cant find anything appropriate.

Any ideas??

1119589 2010-07-17 00:37:00 Steadystate, or use a virtual machine with a snapshot to restore to, when the
inevitable happens.

Or create a system image with something like Acronis True Image.

Steadystate looks simpler to use though.

1119591 2010-07-17 01:01:00 Steady State is good for a home user.

There is an even better one but its more for schools, Office workstations etc.

Its called Deep Freeze.

Doesn't matter WHAT changes you do on the PC , it will automatically put the PC back to original on reboot. Only problem is it will also delete all created data/ Emails etc - hence good for schools/ Office that run the PC's from a server where the data is not allowed to be stored locally.
