1119353 2010-07-16 03:14:00 Can anybody tell me where I can get these codecs for my WMP11? Preferably without having to download a player as well. hrb1968 (15344)
1119354 2010-07-16 03:18:00 k-lite codec pack. google it goodiesguy (15316)
1119355 2010-07-16 03:20:00 Probably be better if you downloaded something like this (www.videolan.org). That'll probably play most of what you've got. WMP should play AVI, it doesnt play DVD or MP4 natively however

Unless, you're using Windows Vista (for DVD), or windows 7 (for DVD and MP4), if you've got MP4 files

1119357 2010-07-16 04:28:00 I'd also recommend on what Speedy said. VLC is extremely good The Error Guy (14052)
1119358 2010-07-16 04:45:00 Another vote for VLC but besides that, ffdshow-tryouts (http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/) should sort your system out.
I wouldn't go near codec packs personally.

1119359 2010-07-16 06:12:00 K-Lite is mostly FFMpeg these days anyways. It's good.

For Win7 there's the Shark007 Codec pack which is great.

Otherwise, VLC.

Always more than one way to skin a cat ;)

1119360 2010-08-14 10:05:00 A big thankyou to Goodiesguy! The K-lite codec pack did the trick! Bloody complicated little bit of software (over 200 codecs and options) but hey, it got me my video back on my WMP, so thanks. I owe you one dude! hrb1968 (15344)
1119361 2010-08-14 10:14:00 How will you pay him one dude?
Assuming he wants one of course. :p
