834136 2009-11-27 20:54:00 One of my 'hates' is people who have had a problem, so post in this forum, get replies helping them, then fail to post back acknowledging success or failure, and thanking those who helped. I would have thought it common courtesy to do so. :angry:mad: Richard (739)
834137 2009-11-27 20:57:00 Common courtesy has ( like common sense ) gone the way of the dodo. Sweep (90)
834138 2009-11-27 20:58:00 Yeah, I don't hate it but find it weird.

If I ask a question I try to thank in advance, and after some suggestions have been put forward, even if none of them quite nailed it.

834139 2009-11-27 21:00:00 Well, there could be a reason....even after a good solution has been given within the first couple of replies, every Tom Dick and Harry still want to add their :2cents:, until there are sometimes maybe 2 or 3 pages of responses, many of which become irrelevant as the thread goes off topic, or repetitions of what has already been said.............:stare: Terry Porritt (14)
834140 2009-11-27 21:04:00 Not a lot of common courtesy around these days. Some kids were never taught it. It is nice when you do get a thank you though, makes it worth while then.

834144 2009-11-27 21:25:00 Fuuny enough when I introduced my boy to the concept of exchanging a silver coin for goods at the local Dairy and showing respect and using manners while doing it I'm pretty sure the dairy owner went into shock.

And then the silly bugger gave my son the items he was trying to buy, which screwed up the entire activity as now my boy thinks you buy things just by showing the money....

834145 2009-11-27 21:35:00 Thank you for that Mets. It immediately brought to mind a similar event from many years ago. But done by the shopkeeper with the very best of intentions. Scouse (83)
