1121644 2010-07-23 08:27:00 Try going to Control Panel - System and Security - Programs - Programs and Features - Turn Windows features on or off, then scroll down for Windows Search and tick the box.

If it is already ticked, then I dont know :)

1121646 2010-07-24 03:55:00 Right click on the start orb, click on properties, then click on customise.
There will be a list of features for the start menu, tick the ones you want, click ok, apply then ok.
Hope this helps.

1121647 2010-07-24 06:50:00 Hi videoguy, got caught with one on wife's Win 7.

Search bar should be under the All Programs line, just type in your query.

Lurking.

The route I quoted is a bit roundabout, try this:

Control Panel then Programs , under Programs and Features you should see "Turn Windows features on or off", then you should hopefully find the Windows Search box which should be ticked.

I also use "Everything" search tool which is very good, and neat and small.
