2010-07-20 11:00:00 | I know this may seem a little odd, but I'm actually prepared to pay for legitimate MP3 files, but it's all too hard Amazon won't sell me them at all, because I don't live in the US of A MP3.com.ru will, but I suspect the "we obey Russian copyright laws" is a rather elastic concept and I'm looking for legit copies. Not sure I'd trust them with my credit card details anyway OK, iTunes will, but the EULA is so scary I'd rather try someone else: dodgy in a different way to our Russian friends So, am I cast into the Jobsian distopia that is Apple iTunes, or is there somewhere else? TIA

2010-07-20 11:28:00 | Welcome to PressF1, Mike :) If your computer is connected to the Internet most of the time, perhaps you would like to consider listening to streaming music instead. An excellent website that I use very regularly for this purpose is Grooveshark (www.grooveshark.com). Cheers :)

2010-07-20 11:33:00 | digirama x 2 As well as Itunes = Legal. ***mp3?? highly doubt it -- they have lots, but most are normally from artists / groups that the record companies have copy rights to. Read their Disclaimer (***.com) #5,6, & 7 :groan:

2010-07-20 13:31:00 | You might be able to buy from Amazon through a third party called "virtual cousins" which are a band of shipping services for buyers beyond USA. This is explained here at Digital Inspiration (www.labnol.org). Need to contact them for details. As noted above - Grooveshark, which is used by many, of which a mate of mine says it's quite good. Also shout cast com (www.shoutcast.com/) a free radio streaming service with 1000's of mp3's. Also...napster one of the original pirated sites is back...though legally at napster com (https:). Here's a simple review of 50 popular free mp3 sites, which includes mp3 search engines, download sites, and collaborators at webupon com. (webupon.com)

2010-07-20 22:12:00 | Hi Mike Can't beat Bandit FM (http://www . bandit . fm/) . Despite the name they are legal . In fact, it owned by the Sony Corporation . Finally, they learn't their lesson . No Spyware and no copy protection . Just a great selection of music at great prices . Like you and I, most people are happy to pay for their music but instead of offering an easy digital store, the big music outfits just haven't got up to speed as you have found out . As stated above, Sony at least, is starting to change that . Hope this helps . . . BURNZEE
