834668 2009-11-29 21:28:00 Ads? And no, Sideswipe was as good as ever. pcuser42 (130)
834669 2009-11-29 21:32:00 Looks the same as it does every day.

Use adblocking and stop moaning.

834670 2009-11-29 21:33:00 We don't get the physical paper. ;)

(Is that what you're moaning about?)

EDIT: Looked at the Herald in Chrome and there's a Coke ad there, but it's silent.

834671 2009-11-29 21:47:00 I had one of those coke ads come up then it went into the NZ Herald homepage.

The ad was also on youtube when I was there earlier.

834673 2009-11-29 22:32:00 I think she means its ad free. Use FF and adblock, then you wont see any ads Speedy Gonzales (78)

No, Zippity's point is that NZ Herald targets the general population, not the tech population. Therefore, not all members of the public know how to block the advertisements.

There is a flaw with Pctek's point: It is up to the NZ Herald staff themselves to moderate the advertisements rather than having the end-users to use ad-blocking methods to properly view the website.

Using an analogy to counter the argument: If you were to eat out at a restaurant and you find that the chair that you are about to sit is broken, do you repair it yourself or do you ask for a new one?

Cheers :)
