| 835152 | 2009-12-18 12:22:00 | Yet again - no evidence of global warming has been noticed in Wellington this summer. We'd welcome some of our ice caps melting though, so we could mow the lawn. | Twelvevolts (5457) | ||
| 835153 | 2009-12-18 18:31:00 | www.nzherald.co.nz LONDON - Emails stolen from climate scientists show they stonewalled sceptics and discussed hiding data - but the messages don't support claims that the science of global warming was faked, according to an exhaustive review by Associated Press. ... the exchanges don't undercut the vast body of evidence showing the world is warming because of man-made greenhouse gas emissions. ... no evidence of falsification or fabrication of data Associated Press reviewed 1073 emails at the heart of the Climategate row. AP studied all the emails for context, with five reporters reading and rereading them - about 1 million words in total. As part of the AP review, summaries of the emails that raised issues from the potential manipulation of data to intensely personal attacks were sent to seven experts in research ethics, climate science and science policy. Let me get this straight - they dumped the raw data and KEPT the "modified" and "homogenized" data that proved their arguments when the FACTS were totally different?!? Is that right?!? :ban [/URL] SJ, the answer to your question "Is that right?!?" is NO. You have it wrong. The FACTS stand, in spite of *a few* 'personal latitudes' that *some* scientists took in the heat of the battle against wingnut skeptics. |

| 835154 | 2009-12-18 21:17:00 | Ahhh yes, but the Stonewalling and withholding of figures clearly points to the fact they had an agenda . ;) Then there is the small matter of data entries being made for weather stations that didnt even exist at the time the entries were made . Sort of a dead giveaway Id have thought . However, be the planet warming or cooling, we seem to have agreement we are looking at about 0 . 6 degrees C either way . Quite a natural phenomena and hardly worthy of the Mass Hysteria afforded the Happening . But anyway, lets dismiss the above and assume the mathematics were correct and the hysteria was warranted . How would a taxation regime to give money to poorer nations fix it? Seems to me to like putting a Band-Aid on your finger to cure a headache . Dahhhh, the whole thing has Loonies written all over it for mine . |

However, the Greenies credibility is further damaged by them continually showing water vapour being emitted from power plant Cooling Towers in the hope that people will think its smoke. When an organisation stoops to such tactics their credibility and integrity must be sorely tested. |

I guess that science nowadays makes allowances for a few decimal points or results that are a little skewed just to say that there's something like: "Where there's smoke, there's fire"? No - they can have a "scientific proof" or they can have a "guesstimate" but to correlate both into a lump sum is NOT science and is not much more than voodoo economics, flat Earth reasoning and a fond belief that people can live in Upsidedown Land . It tain't so! One way or the other, but not an amalgam of each . If they call it "science" then it has to BE science! |

This is Sue Kedgely type thinking - if only the peasants would take public transport there would be more room on the road for her car. |

And since when did we believe the Associated Press anyway? |
