 Brilliant Chill.

I am working with a builder this morning and I look forward to telling him about this thread and the  nailgun bit.

Seriously, I am curious to see the response to Hone's definition of racism, from the likes of newspaper editorials, race relations people, and of course the Maori Party. Cynically, my guess is we as a nation will accept Hone's definition and at the same time feel smug that none of us are racist.

835721 2009-12-02 19:38:00 I see he has been given some form of punishment although rather weak. He cannot return to parliament until next year and he has a list of 10 things/requirements he has to fulfill or are they guidelines.

835722 2009-12-02 20:17:00 From the Gisborne Herald (www.gisborneherald.co.nz):

MP Catherine Delahunty ... Her comments ... has nothing to do with the dispossession of natural resources and more to do with the will to strive forward and do better for ourselves and our future generations. Her defence of Hone Harawera shows nothing but contempt for all New Zealanders who value common sense. Her statement that “people are only able to discriminate when one culture has the power to impose things over another stucturally” is utter nonsense. ... Many of these politicians need to get off their high horses and have a closer look at New Zealanders.

835724 2009-12-03 10:26:00 How very Christian of you.

Did you always aspire to dorkdom Roddy, or did you have dorkdom thrust upon you? It seems to me that you must have a natural god-given talent in the dorking field, you achieve so much with so little.

Of course we should not overlook the possibility that the gift is hereditary, you may well be the present carrier of a baton passed down through the ages by a long and unbroken line of dorks.

I urge you to consider celibacy.

Cheers

835725 2009-12-03 17:50:00 I have charged the battery on my nail gun and put in a new gas canister. I also found some 90mm galv nails for it ready for Hone to use on himself Roddy permitting of course. :punk:clap gary67 (56)

 Good one Billy - I will add "dorkdom" to my list of new vocabulary.

But I dunno. Maybe Roddy is more clever with his humour than we think: nailgun - crucifixion - get it? In the past "being Christian" used to mean being kind and helpful, acting as Jesus would. But these days I believe it is more about acting narrow mindedley, harshly, ruthlessly, inconsiderately.

835728 2009-12-03 19:13:00 Got this one today:-

Stamp Recall
New Zealand Post created a stamp with a picture of Maori Politician, Hone Harawira. The stamp was not sticking to envelopes. This enraged Hone, who demanded a full investigation.
After a month of testing and spending of $1.5 million of tax payers money,
A special commission presented the following findings:
1. The stamp is in perfect order.
2. There is nothing wrong with the adhesive.
3. People are spitting on the wrong side of the stamp.
