He's a public icon and as such is subject to prying eyes and public lambasting for things he does . If he doesn't like the limelight, then get outta the publics' eye . It's not like he was forced into notoriety, he just took the reins and galloped into a multi-millionaire and all it's associated freaks and anecdotes . He's talented fer sure, but he's public fodder . Besides, the US press (the real press, not the dime-mags) has proof of an infidelity just last week - so there's more than meets the eyes here . Perhaps a seven iron to the rear window during a hasty egress might have been a distractive factor - but it's news, soft, hard or in the middle or not . Man bites dog is always good banner . |

The only reason the media address it, is becuase it is good for their ratings and people like to read about it, due to people like seeing 'car crashes', and people self destruct. Its a sad side of human nature. However in terms of 'real news' it is not real news. It is purely tabloid, but that is the way NZ media is heading, more and more. Some people show and deserve respect, But apparently not in America. And its disgraceful and bizarre that anyone would try and make a connection to the OJ incident. |

It's the image that he presents verses the bum he might be and the parallel with OJ for his athletic prowess and blonde wife . It's also called: "Celebrity Justice" . People just love to see a Snow White fall into the mud . Now - FINANCIALLY - it's of interest that Buick stopped their support (read: $$$) for Woods and the Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tours a few months ago . IF this "alleged" accusation is allowed to fester, then the sponsors have a legal option to drop him for his lack of demeanor whilst under their contracts . These contracts are substantial and represent a life-long conditional promotion of - and payment to - him and his estate as long as he maintains his clean and unblemished public and private lifestyle . It would indeed be a savings of cash to be allowed to drop this golfer from payroll if they could call the option(s) . Times are (financially) tough for sponsors right now and any saving of this huge lump of money would be in the company's/stockholder's interest, if not the prurient factors-relationships that are being found to have feet of clay right now . |
