1121475 2010-07-22 23:12:00 Just a quick note for those of you who may not have seen the other thread .

If you are currently on a 24-month CDMA wireless plan, or even have come off the contract period but still pay the same rate, if you try XT then don't like it for any reason, you may be put on a more expensive "open" plan when you cancel the trial .

Don't be fooled by any assurances to the contrary from Telecom staff .

Basically you can't get your old number back (and therefore your old terms and conditions) as it's locked somehow and a new one may be issued . From that point on you're in customer services hell trying to sort it out .

1121476 2010-07-23 00:25:00 That's kind of a given, if your old plan has been discontinued and they're no longer taking new sign-ups. That happens regularly, not just with Telco's, and not just with Telecom.

If your old plan has been discontinued, then of course you're going to be put on to a different plan if you decide to cancel the trial.

Of course you can keep your Cellular number, that can be transferred between any of the telco's like Vodafone, Telecom, 2degrees.

I can appreciate that you're frustrated mate, but spreading FUD by spamming multiple threads is not the way to go about getting it sorted.

1121477 2010-07-23 01:29:00 TBH, everyone is going to have to get off CDMA in the next couple of years anyway, because they will be shutting it off soon, so it'll be XT or go somewhere else... ryanjames.powell (13554)
1121478 2010-07-23 01:38:00 I had those same sentiments in the other thread ;) Chilling_Silence (9)
1121479 2010-07-23 01:50:00 Just keep in mind that all dealings with Telecom are designed is such a way to benefit them not you and you can't go wrong.

well, ok, they will screw you over in ways you never anticipated but at least you know its going to happen, Just not from what direction.

The way I see it, if you can live with whatever crap they are currently feeding you then stick with it until they force you to change, at which time go to a different provider.

Yes.
