1451837 2018-07-21 21:13:00 In W7 to import photos and videos just right clicked on the iPhone 7 in Windows Explorer and had an option of which folders to put photos and videos plus could tag them with say today’s date. Easy.
In W10 can’t find the iPhone in Windows Explorer instead it opens up in Photos and is slow and doesn’t appear to split the videos and photos.
How can I get the iPhone to show in Windows Explorer in W10?!
Thanks

1451838 2018-07-22 00:15:00 Theres usually some silly reason.

Have a read through appuals.com

One item, cant stress enough is Number 3 in hardware
Use the original USB lightning cable while connecting the iPhone to your computer. Many third-party lightning cables work only for charging and not for data transfer.

I have had many problem with devices not showing, MP3 players, Cameras and Android phones, EVERY time it was using the wrong cable. Once the correct one was plugged in away it went instantly.

Was using a genuine Apple cable but grabbed another one and it worked!

1451840 2018-07-22 00:45:00 I was playing around with a friend's iPhone 6 to retrieve his photographs. It needs iTunes installed so the driver is there. When I used a 3rd party software and it uninstalled the driver and used something else - the iPhone was no longer visible under Windows Explorer. Nomad (952)
1451841 2018-07-22 00:57:00 Not being able to drag and drop onto an iPhone is the reason why I would never buy one of them, I have been given 2 over the years, a 3GS and a 5 both need iTunes which is cumbersome and a real hassle as I wont have it on my main computer and have a separate XP computer to access my phone, so annoying.

So I have to carry the phone and a flash drive to carry round info etc when I have a phone with spare gigs of space but hard to access.

Silly Apple all that is required is some space on the drive to drag and drop stuff to not necessarily any of the sacred Apple os space.

Helping a friend. You cannot even drag and drop too many photo's from the iPhone device that pops up on Windows Explorer, it would crash. You need to import them. Yep, no access to the folders. It woulda been nice to go into the WeChat folder and copy his photographs but that wasn't the case.

You can use some apps to turn an iPhone into a USB Flash Drive.
