1451813 2018-07-20 22:11:00 If I was to replace my printer (can't find Win 10 compatible drivers) will the drivers be deleted or do I need to manually remove them, if so how do I do it? Bryan (147)
1451814 2018-07-20 23:13:00 Whats the make and Model of Printer you cant find drivers for ? wainuitech (129)
1451815 2018-07-21 03:24:00 It's a Canon Imageclass MF4420n. At Canon there appear to be updates to Windows 10 but they do not work for me! Maybe I'm holding my mouth wrong.

I had wanted to reinstall a clean WIN10 but once there I could not load the printer drivers. Win10 kept saying that drivers were unavailable.

Strange because my present install from WIN7 quite sometime ago now works perfectly well. Maybe I've been looking in the wrong place.

1451816 2018-07-21 04:14:00 Have you tried these drivers ( top Option) www.canon.com.au

Read what it says about installing after clicking on the link (to download)

1451817 2018-07-21 04:25:00 Thanks for that but..Yup I did that and followed the instructions precisley. However, this is where I got Win10 saying that drivers were unavailable. This message was generated when I went into "Devices and printers" to make the printer the default printer. Makes me think that a more moden printer is needed but the one I have is not that old and still performs very well on the presnt WIN 10 install. It's just a new install that causes troubles........leave well alone? Bryan (147)
1451818 2018-07-21 07:05:00 Or this www.canon.co.nz Speedy Gonzales (78)
1451819 2018-07-21 08:39:00 Thanks Speedy. Yes I tried that too. It is the same as the one WT alluded to. Although they load down, they don't seem to install to the degree that W10 needs.

When I start the printer, it is recognised by W10 but as I said earlier the comment is made that the driver is not available.

1451820 2018-07-21 09:19:00 But did you run the install / file you downloaded first? Then turn the printer on then connect it?

Dont install the drivers, while the printer is turned on / connected / plugged into a usb port

1451821 2018-07-21 10:17:00 Yes I believe I did all that. I downloaded the file, turned on the printer and then attached the cable as instructed. Bryan (147)
1451822 2018-07-21 11:37:00 Yes I believe I did all that. I downloaded the file, turned on the printer and then attached the cable as instructed.

Did you install the driver? Just downloading it is insufficient.
