1451671 2018-07-17 05:09:00 With my new PC didn’t think would have any chance of installing my 22 year old Coral Draw but it went on no prob!
Yeah sure there are better drawing programs but it’s nice and simple - and am too old to learn anything else anyway!

1451672 2018-07-17 05:25:00 Don't see why it shouldn't, the issue with certain manufacturers software is the (built-in) reliance on other code, and it usually isn't necessary.

No reason you shoulkdn't stick with a program you are happy with.

1451673 2018-07-17 07:08:00 I still use Word Express for Windows 95. Came on 3 floppies! Works in Windows 10, in XP compatibility mode. Works in std Windows 10 but will not remember its Registration. mzee (3324)
1451674 2018-07-17 08:24:00 Often thought of it, but never tried, but do any of these old DOS/Windows programmes work under Linux/Mint/Wine/Winetricks?

I guess try them and see is the real proof, but somebody may have already tried that. :)

1451675 2018-07-17 09:37:00 For DOS programs you could try DOSBOX
https://www.dosbox.com/
available for Windows, Linux and OSX

1451677 2018-07-17 22:42:00 I'm just happy I can still get Doom to run. It's old and blocky, but there's a lot of history having great fun with that game.
It must be getting close to being 30 years old now.

I have tried Wine on Mint. Old windows programs that are self contained, often will run, but big issues with printers etc. DOS box will run a lot of old Dos based programs, & games in windows or Linux. Much easier to double boot with Windows. I find Windows 7 to be best for this.

Some of the old programs could just be copied as is to new PC's & work .
Its a crap shoot as to what works and what doesnt. Some wont work on 64bit Win .
