| 1454712 | 2018-10-29 01:09:00 | I think Tuhoe are more "Maori" (i.e. preservation of Maori Toanga/"Maoriness") than many other NZ Maori Iwi, from what I have seen and heard over the years. They more likely to understand Maori and speak Maori. They are different in appearance, tending to be more resemblance to traditional/historic maori. Older Kiwi's might tell lighter skinned ones are from other areas. I know I do. Tuhoe families are more "royal" - few half castes/half breeds - since were not colonized early like Northland - unlike many from BOP/Taupo/Taranaki/SI. Also many are kind of bush/horse back riding aware - naturally - and into bush boar hunting. | kahawai chaser (3545) | ||

I have the odds about the same as winning Lotto six weeks in a row. But what beats me is they never signed the Treaty, therefore they claim not to be bound in any way by it, yet they pick up a $170M Treaty Settlement and other Perks. Personally, Id laugh like hell if there was gold in commercial quantities on their land and they did a deal with the Chinese to mine it. :devil |
