1451682 2018-07-24 10:12:00 How do you install these old programs in Win10? I have an old Windows 95 program that I tried installing some time ago with no joy.

What is the name of the program?

Calendar Creator Plus V2. Works on Win XP but I can't remember if I got it working on Win 7. Probably not because that PC is 64-bit as well.

1451684 2018-07-25 09:52:00 There are 5 versions of it:
winworldpc.com

Version 2 is only 16bit and was for W3.1, before W95. I don't know if W10 will handle 16bit, but versions 4 or 5 should work. You may need to use 'compatibility mode', right click on the .exe file in windows explorer.

1451685 2018-07-25 10:38:00 Thanks for that. Didn't realise it was actually that old or 16-bit. Will see if I have any luck with those versions. tommy (2826)
1451686 2018-07-25 10:55:00 64 bit versions of Windows (any version, not just 10) will not run 16 bit programs, but the 32 bit versions still do. pcuser42 (130)
1451687 2018-08-08 00:34:00 With my new PC didn’t think would have any chance of installing my 22 year old Coral Draw but it went on no prob!
Yeah sure there are better drawing programs but it’s nice and simple - and am too old to learn anything else anyway!

Not a PC record but I am still using bookshelf, card file, ms money and ms publisher all from the all from the windows 3.1 days.

1451688 2018-08-10 20:50:00 Best idea for old Windows programs is probably running the old Windows in a VM.

Performance is pretty good now on modern machines and usually half-decent 3D acceleration can be obtained.

I would be wary of running really old programs straight on modern Windows, some of them can install very old DLLs etc which mess things up for later programs.
