2018-10-18 05:17:00 | What's this? www.nzherald.co.nz Surely it is simple enough, just put a bounty on cyclists, $20 for a complete hide, $15 for each scalp. I guess they should provide bins for the residual bits ~ the pet food producers could add the leftovers to their dog rolls. As a benefit, dogs might develop a taste for the sods and go out catching their own. ;)

2018-10-18 08:53:00 | What could possibly go wrong :D Footpath - Cycle Lane - Parked Bus passengers getting on/off At some bus stops the cycle lane will pass between any stationary buses and the bus shelter. Bus users will have right-of-way to cross the cycleway to and from the bus in front of oncoming cyclists. :tui: People jump off bus, SMACK right into person on a Bike. !!!!! Auckland Transport to put staff at the bus stops when the cycleway goes into use to remind bus passengers to watch out for bikes. Sooooo Contradicting them selves already

2018-10-18 18:52:00 | Surely cyclists aren't thinking they get an unobstructed free flow straight through ride without any need to pay attention to hazards ahead, beside or where-ever? Same as cars etc, you watch out for stuff.

2018-10-18 20:06:00 | I cycle, but I will never wear lycra and nobody would want me to. The trouble is not cyclists as a group, it's entitled self absorbed people who also happen to be cyclists. Just as there are motorists who should never be allowed behind the wheel there are cyclists who shouldn't be allowed on public roads. Some Idiot will be flying along head down, bum up doing more that 30km/h expecting everyone else to get out of his way and will never accept responsibilty when he hits someone who didn't see him coming. Please don't lump all cyclists in with that Idiot. Because people like that exist though this design is risky. I use a cycleway to get to work and it's great. Sometimes I have to slow down to avoid pedestrians and that's ok, sometimes people wander aimlessly all over the path and I have to almost stop to get around them and that's ok too. What's not ok is running someone down even if they are being inconsiderate.. It's still a lot better than taking my life into my hands on the busy 80km/h road it runs next to. I see a lot of the lycra warriors flying along on the road and I think they are foolish, but I appreciate that if speed is more important to them than safety at least they are courteous enough to use the road and not the cycleway

Unlike normal cyclists, in normal clothes cruising along paying attention. Definitely both kinds round here.... |
