1454348 2018-10-12 01:52:00 Hi guys
I have a few cans of old paint and some old containers of motor oil.
What would be the easiest way to safely dispose of it, without costing a fortune.
The oil could be useful for a guy with an old car.

1454349 2018-10-12 02:06:00 Don't know about the paint. The oil you could take to your motor service centre, they will probably take it. Bryan (147)

Some recycling centres also do. I know both the ones in Tasman and Sockburn, Christchurch do

1454352 2018-10-12 03:19:00 Oil : take it to Supercheap Auto , my local one has a huge wheelie bin outside for it , so dont have to sneek it in :-)

Paint: last I checked, in Ak, no one wanted to take paint for free.
Some shops supposedly took old paint but charged disposal fees.
perhaps open the tins, let them dry out then throw in the trash. Paint may only be an issue when its liquid & can seep into the ground .

1454356 2018-10-12 05:27:00 I am here in BOP at the moment but my charges to take it back to HB may be to high. :)

Supercheap used to take it and told me to take to the Transfer Station Meleme Street

Go past the Transfer Station as you drive in to the Booth which is Maned /Personed ,fill out some details and you will be directed up to the Dump discharge area ,give the Form to the person up there and you will be told where to put the oil

If you are over the Mount area try the Transfer Station Te Maunga
