I am using a Kyocera Ecosys P2235dn printer at work that is on a wired network with static IP address 100.0.0.36. It has to be this IP address with machine name Accounts in order to work with our network. I had another separate wireless printer that was used by a stand alone PC for payroll but this other printer broke and I knew I would need to print the payroll before the new printer was due for delivery. I tested to see if I could disconnect the network cable of the Kyocera, then install it locally on a PC by USB, then reconnect to the network. It all worked so on payroll day I disconnected the network cable, connected by USB to the stand alone PC and did the necessary prints. So far so good but now I am trying to reconnect to the network I am having problems. I am able to print a Status Page which under the heading Network, IPv4 shows the IP address as 100.0.0.36 although the Host Name is KM338D1F (?whatever that is?) BUT the printer shows as offline and will not print anything. Ive tried a new network cable and a different network socket bit still the printer shows as offline. The status page shows the following under the heading Network (not that it means much to me!): LAN Interface Setting: Auto Current: 10BASE-T Half TCP/IP Status: Enabled Printer Host Name: KM338D1F IPv4 DHCPv4 Status: Disabled Bonjour Status: Enabled IP Address: 100.0.0.36 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: Not defined IPv6 Status: Enabled DHCPv6 Status; Enabled RA Status: Enabled Manual: Not Defined DHCPv6(Stateful): Not Defined RA(Stateless): Not defined LinkLocal: Fe80::217:c8ff:fe33:8d1f/64 The printer itself does not have a menu panel and I cant find any way to get to the printer settings. You cannot access it in a web browser by entering the IP address. As you can probably guess I am not in IT but just get lumbered with all the companys IT problems! Do you have any suggestions as to what I can try next as I am desperate to get this printer back on the network. Thanks Karen YPG |

| 1452395 | 2018-08-09 01:52:00 | You should have got a DVD with the printer. On that should be a set up program which should find your printer on the network. This should let you change the IP address on the printer to one you can access. Another way is to change one of your networked pcs to the same ip address range as the printer, then you should be able to get access to it. Don't forget to set the pc back to its original settings when done. I would suggest once you get access is to it turn off IPv6 (you shouldn't need it), turn on DHCPv4. Turn the printer off and on. Print off a Status Page to get the new IP address and then go in and reset up for your network. Next time you want to print via the USB port on this printer you can do so without having to remove the network lead, assuming you aren't moving the printer. |

Im guessing it isnt conected to the network whats the IP of the PC . Is the Pc connecting to the network via wifi or via cable. You'll need to do some network troubleshooting . See if you can ping the printers IP . or download the full setup software from Kyocera & run that . If lucky the software will do a network search for the printer . "Current: 10BASE-T Half" what the heck. Its not 1995 :) |

The printer itself has a network cable connected to the printer at one end and to a switch box at the other and we have numerous PCs that use the printer, all are connected to the same network with network cables, all with IP addresses beginning 100.0.0. then a number. I can ping to the printer's IP of 100.0.0.36 from my own PC (which is 100.0.0.57). Sorry I don't understand your comment about what the heck its not 1195?!! I'll go and answer the other comments now. Either remove that & re-install , or change the printer port from USB to the TCPIP port number : add printer port in Win "devices & printer" menu. Download the LATEST printer driver/software. The CD wont have the newest driver. |

| 1452402 | 2018-08-09 22:33:00 | I can't fix your problem but don't go changing IP addresses as that will flow on to the whole network. The address range (100.0.0.x) is rather strange for an internal network as it isn't one of the non routable ones designated for internal networks but, presumably, there is a rationale for it. Your comp and the printer have addresses that are on the same subnet, and you can ping it, so that is something positive, but it leaves the question as to why the printer won't respond, and why it reports as being offline. It doesn't seem fair that you are lumbered with this issue, and it is risky that you take the advice from forum members, however well meaning they are, who aren't familiar with your setup and who can't be hands-on. Your company should have a local network specialist to call on for this sort of task. |
