2010-07-24 09:48:00 | Currently using Logitech G5 but its on its way out (tracking is gettin bad) so thought i'd get a new one. I was keen on this (www.computerlounge.co.nz) at computer lounge and paid for it but they said they won't get stock in so I have the option of going elsewhere or choosing another. But if I get one from computer lounge they said they will apply a discount (bloody good chaps) So budget isn't set but around that ($125) would be nice as it is "just a mouse" Mainly used for FPS and photoshopping plus all the general computer stuff Cheers

Can't remember what I spent on the G5 but it's definitely worthwhile, I got a good run out of it and when your in the middle of FPS multiplayer the last thing you need is your mouse being slower or less acurate than your hand | hueybot3000 (3646) | ||
2010-07-24 10:11:00 | I replaced my G5 with a G5 (2007) with the two thumb buttons, it looks a little nicer in blue too, can't you get them for under $100 now? Edit: just checked pricespy, there are a few places selling for under $100. TBH I wouldn't buy a different mouse without testing it first, I have had a try of th latest offerings from MS and Logitech but still prefer the good old G5.

2010-07-24 10:49:00 | What issues? | Deimos (5715) | |

2010-07-24 10:54:00 | The original G5 was known for its scroll wheel issues, where you click the wheel down but it would sense it as a scroll as well and all hell breaks loose on your screen. Especially when tryin to use a scope in FPS and it changes weapon instead! By latest mouseware you mean Setpoint? I have never found in particularly useful, was never enough features on the G5 to need it anyway. They are still a bloody nice mouse though, flatmate has the G9 and I think it was a step back for them. It's kinda comfortable but really ugly and big

2010-07-24 10:57:00 | I have one of these 1.bp.blogspot.com Very decent piece of hardware, 4 mouse speeds set by the push of a button with full 2000dpi laser, I don't know if they are stocked in NZ, I got mine for $20 in singapore. tracks are guaranteed for 10+ kms and they sell new ones. probably a bit excessive for most things but it was good on price, looks and performance | The Error Guy (14052) | |
