1121835 2010-07-24 01:27:00 At the moment we record Freeview on our media centre computer with Windows Media centre on Win 7 .

The problem is Windows Media Centre records its TV files as * . wtv which I cannot read on my Win XP computer .

When I was trying Win 7 on my computer I tried to play a * . wtv file but the play back of the Win 7 files was choppy as my CPU / graphics cannot handle HD videos .

So because of this I am looking for another program that I use to recorded Freeview and it records in * . mpg and can support dual tuners and works on Win 7 ???

1121836 2010-07-24 01:32:00 Find the recorded video right mouse on it. Windows 7 lets you convert WTV to DVR-MS (well it might). Whats the brand/model of the tuner? Well maybe not lol. It doesnt convert WTV Speedy Gonzales (78)
1121837 2010-07-24 02:23:00 You can install Movie maker for Windows 7 from noeld.com It can load WTV files, so you at least edit it. Then once you've edited it, click on publish movie, give it a name, then select a dvd format. Then burn it with dvd maker. But you're right it is jerky / choppy in Windows 7, but its fine in Vista (here). You probably wont get a program that records in Mpg (if you're using an HD tuner). It'll either record in MP4, or H.264 format Speedy Gonzales (78)
1121838 2010-07-24 03:06:00 You can have a read of This forum (www.sevenforums.com), links to programs in posts 3,16,19,29 40 ( may be interesting one) thats as far as I went through the post, No idea if they work, never tried it. wainuitech (129)
1121839 2010-07-24 03:25:00 It'll be easier to install Movie maker as above. Only diff that I can see (from Vista's MM) is when you xfer video you have to watch it while its being xferred (with firewire).

With Vista's MM, when you xfer video, you don't have to watch it. And in Vista's MM, once you've edited whatever, when you go to publish it you've got the option of closing / saving whatever, then it'll open DVD maker (or whatever Vista has). In the version above, you have to save it, then close it. Then open DVD maker manually. If you want to burn it to DVD

1121840 2010-07-24 05:35:00 What are you recording? DVB-S (freeview) or DVB-t (freeview|HD) this may also explain the choppiness.. If DVB-T you machine may not big fast enough to play it properly. psycik (12851)
1121841 2010-07-24 05:43:00 Its probably DVB-T since its HD Speedy Gonzales (78)
1121842 2010-07-24 06:12:00 I suggest GB-PVR or Mediaportal Agent_24 (57)

1121844 2010-07-24 06:37:00 Mediaportal has just been updated. I might see if this tuner works this time. It didnt with the previous version

Cant remember which program didnt work, it was either MP or GBP. One didnt detect the tuner at all. The other detected the tuner but nothing came on the screen
