837430 2009-12-07 19:00:00 1) I am getting bounced off almost all sites if I don't access them within what appears to be a set time period .

By this I mean that I may be posting here and have another site on a different tab and when I click the other tab I have to sign in all over again .

My passwords and sign-in names have to be reentered and Firefox had asked for and received permission by me to keep me logged in, but somehow it's failing .

2) I am getting a lot of "pop-overs" that block my access to sites that have never in the past had any of that behavior before . Is there a utility or add-on I can get in Firefox/Google that will work in PCLOS to correct that problem?

These problems are only showing up on the PCLOS 'puter . My XP unit doesn't have these problems at all - so I wonder if there's just a setting somewhere I'm missing .

837431 2009-12-08 00:10:00 OK! I know the words "PCLOS" attached to my post name usually means trouble - but I need to know what's happening here so-o-o-o-o-ooo

Ker-BUMP!

837432 2009-12-08 00:21:00 Have you disabled "Cookies" in the privacy settings, and maybe selected "Always clear my private data when i log off". Possible other custom privacy settings can cause this. Battleneter2 (9361)

I'll look if I can find where - but I never really do log off - I set it to "Remember me/my password" and "Stay Logged In" and it still goes amok - even between tab clicks when I know things should not be turning themselves off .

I get this in the same session too! I don't reboot and they're asking me for my name and password over and over .

I don't believe that I've changed any settings in PCLOS what with the bad experience I had a while back with my 8 x 500g HDD unit and the TOTAL AND COMPLETE DESTRUCTION OF OVER 14,000 MP3s AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF VIDS! But that wasn't THIS 'puter .

So-o-o-o - I don't dabble in things L-based unless I have someone to hold my hand(s) . .

I'm gonna sleep on it tonight . We have very high winds, snow and drizzling sleet and I want to wake up to a bright summer day tomorrow - fat chance!

837434 2009-12-08 07:10:00 The PCLOS I am using atm has been sitting idle with the HDD out of the machine, and the PSU at work elsewhere for about 3 or 4 weeks. It logged onto PF1 just fine, also I just tried another 3 sites - all ok.
Might be a Lucas infusion while your system is confused and weakened by sleet. Try eating a Vegemite sandwich, while facing North for warmth. (Wherever you backward people have North located this week.) Last time I looked you had it located on the side away from the equator, I was not at all surprised to find that the temperature was not fooled by this for a moment so your reputed "North" was colder than the reputed "South", perhaps you have got that fixed by now?

837435 2009-12-08 18:39:00 I gotta get a handle on this small L-based problem . It's OK if I had a security issue or multiple users on this machine - but I don't - so I don't appreciate the loss of sign-in every time .

Just wait a while - The National Geographic Special I viewed last night said that the North & South Poles are in the midst of changing position . There will be temporary smaller "Norths" and "Souths" on odd areas of the planet as this happens, so you can pretty much take whatever "North" you want for the next 10,000 years or so .

During that time, persons who use electricity will be reduced to 120VAC, as the flux field capacitor (Earth) cannot take the extreme radiation from the sun as the magnetosphere undergoes some - er, "lapses" in protection for living (or therefor dying) carbon-based inhabitants .

Do you still have your aluminum hats and underwear? Better get them outta mothballs .

And leave the mothballs unprotected? I think not. We don't want a generation of mutated moths (not when we have Rodney).
