837275 2009-12-07 06:00:00 I bought a new printer - Kodak AIO Model # ESP3250 .

I've had HP, Canon, Lexmark and a few others and although I loved the Canons, they let their ink prices get right up next to HP's prices and that made me angry .

The Kodak AIO was $99 . 00US/$138 . 11NZ and it said that the ink was a lot cheaper . At about $20 . 00US/$27 . 90NZ it works for me!

Well - it is - but the nicest part is that it last longer and (here's a really NICE part) - KODAK does NOT sell the printer with "Demo" cartridges that have only 1/3rd the load of expensive replacement units .

I had the HPs and the first ink supplies lasted only a few pages of full color . But the Kodak keeps running and running and so far after a LOT of 8x10 pixs, it's still going strong!

Another neat part is that the Kodak AIO I got has a five-part cartridge and a single . It has a large black and five colors of some pretty impressive size that can be turned off so you can just use the black .

One thing I noticed was that the prints come out absolutely dry - no waiting for a few minutes before you can touch it .

I think Kodak has a winner here .

837277 2009-12-08 03:08:00 I hope their printers are better than their cameras. Speedy Gonzales (78)
837278 2009-12-08 06:44:00 Hey Speed - I got one of the 7 . 1 MPix cameras and my professional photographer brother-in-law says he's impressed by it's video capability and the various settings that can be tuned by the owner . I get great snaps with it - and although I am not a professional photographer, he says he likes it enough to buy one for himself .

Kodak also has a new black matrix that they have patented and they are using in their new upper-end stuff that's making the digital world notice .

Enough said . But I enjoy my camera AND the printer .

837279 2009-12-08 06:52:00 They make some quite good cameras, then saddle them with crapware. Might as well be HP. R2x1 (4628)
837280 2009-12-08 06:56:00 Some of their docks (for the cameras) are a bit dodgy so I've read. Speedy Gonzales (78)
837281 2009-12-08 07:15:00 I reckon the docks are a crock - just hardware to get in the way of the connection between camera memory and pc. A profitable crock no doubt but IMHO a totally unnecessary one.
Add that to the weird software, and all virtues of the camera tend to be overlooked.

I brought a kodak 3 MP camera in 2001-2 and it cost around $1500, and it had one of those docks. The docks also charged the abbetery, but becuase thw batteries were NiCads, and suffered the meory effect, they died after a few weeks. Biggest piece of crap, and got my money back on it, as for that price it should have been good. Therefore I am very wary of Kodak. They position themselves at the budget end with their build quality. Their build quality is poor, as is the software inside the camera, laggy and 'dumbed down' The US love Kodak, because it is an longterm american brand, but I think you are better with Canon for cameras, and probably printers to.

837283 2009-12-08 07:36:00 Yup, if I buy a camera, I'll get one with some kind of memory card on it. Then I wont have to use a program / or cable / dock, I'll just chuck it in the card reader Speedy Gonzales (78)
