837024 2009-12-07 00:15:00 Hi, this link shows a popular skyline shot in Auckland .

Where do you get this shot? Will be up in Auckland around Christmas for a few nights, do I need to stand over at North Shore to get it? Would like to get a shot at sunset or at night .

As for Auckland Bridge it is easy to drive towards it at either side and find a place to pull over right? When I went there without a car myself, the bridge was more of a challenge to get to .

Cheers

837025 2009-12-07 00:44:00 I took a shot like that. I got it by getting on the southbound lane at Takapuna and stopped just before the Northern side of the bridge. Then walked towards the water through some scrub. You get a great view from there. Greg (193)

837028 2009-12-07 01:32:00 I cringe when i see Sky Tower, it just looks so generic with so many cities having one.

Auckland some amazing shots.

837029 2009-12-07 01:43:00 One of the very best positions I have seen for a great shot of downtown Auckland looking across the water is from the pedestrian bridge which spans the northern motorway just north of the bridge. The view is spectacular if noisy.

To get to the bridge you need to exit the northern motorway at Onewa Rd and turn right at the first set of lights into Sylvan Avenue then turn right into Heath Rd which ends at Heath Reserve. Park the car and walk across the reserve to the bridge. I am certain that you will love the view and your pics will look amazing. Have fun.
