| 836782 | 2009-12-18 00:54:00 | I think we will skip the metro mag's restaurants. $5 for 4 pieces of dumpling :horrified $100 for one piece of abalone not that we are gonna but it is kinda upscale, with special wine list, ones at $100 to $1,000+ a bottle. $18 for fried rice or what ... I also read some reviews about the service :D |

| 836787 | 2009-12-18 05:21:00 | They are the same, with slightly different styles. They're the ones I warned you about... Folks didn't wanna go anyway. I read the reviews, there was a split - ie., what you said vs the ones that were happy with them at the same time understanding they had to wait or had to eat fast. Some even arguing with management or need to chase the waiter / waitress for food after being ignored :p Is it similar to Wellington ie., over here people tend to go to yum char and lunches but not many people go out for dinner for 1) the price and 2) many people can cook up something decent. I have the telephone # and addresses, will just tap into the GPS when we are there :D |

Some even arguing with management or need to chase the waiter / waitress for food after being ignored :p When I went to the Grand Park for the first time, hardly anyone brought food to us, in fact, most went to ignore us until last. When I went to Sunshine Restaurant, we waited 40 mins for a table though we booked, having to let several well dressed affluent (or is it effluent) persons push in front by the management. Slack food service then. Ended up flagging a waitress to get food to someone else at another table. We ended up sitting next to one of the presenters of Fair Go. Arrived after us, left before us. Also, King's House in East Tamaki/Pakuranga might still have the old signs called 'Jade Terrace' |

(could be Great Western, not sure) there is a McDonalds on that corner with Countdown etc . On the far side of the supermarket car park is a small side street accessed either through the Countdown carpark or off . . . . . ? there is a small block of shops there, one at the far end sells a wide range of asian cakes, pastries etc if you like that sort of thing . Or if you want a take out roast for a change, shop next door for about $13 for a large container packed to the top with heaps of meat, potatoe's, gravey, etc . Always stop at both enroute from the airport to motel . |
