| 1122272 | 2010-07-25 22:30:00 | Hi folks, I write those price lists :p The main point of getting 3 screens is to use ATI's Eyefinity: sites.amd.com ...which is "basically" just multi-monitor gaming. Yes you can get cheaper 24" screens but there's a few things to keep in mind: -At least one of them needs a DisplayPort, or you need a ~$200 adaptor. -They pref need to be able to Pivot (for having the screens in portrait mode which is much better for some games, especially FPS, and office productivity is generally a little easier). -Using LCD or LED-lit LCDs with TN panels (which generally all the cheaper ones use) have garbage viewing angles in portait mode. Not worthy of a $10k rig. Yes it is verging on excessive (not stupidly though IMO, it's all good stuff if that's your budget, I haven't thrown things in just to bump the price up) but that's kind of the point :) |
