837453 2009-12-08 01:36:00 And for old measures that once were taken,
12 thumbs = 1 apprentice.
1 apprentice plus new hammer = Black thumbs of death (an early unit of digital measure)

837454 2009-12-08 06:49:00 Hope not :p 1 meter = approx 39 & 3/8 inches

so doing some simple maths, 3 meters = , x3 carry the 1, divide by weather temp at SJ 's house, x NZ temp = , errrrr :p 9.84252 feet

The 30cm = 1 foot is close, its 30.5 cm or 305 mm

For those not knowing imperial - 1 foot = 12 inches

You forgot to factor in the hemispherical inversion factor.

837455 2009-12-08 06:57:00 OK, for the inversion correction, 12 inches = 1 foot.

For general distances, chocolate fish or Vegemite will get you a long way (but do not use both in the same sandwich).
