| 836376 | 2009-12-05 02:02:00 | I have a family member who likes to ask questions about what I'm doing, then suggests I should pass it over to someone she works with as they know all about computers. This same person went elsewhere when I wouldn't drop everything for them immediately, This new person they took the PC too put in a second harddrive, cloned the first to it, and charged them $400, And seeing as the problem was spyware and startup bloat the new "configuartion" had the exact same problems. Recently I picked up their PC as it wouldn't boot, It had crashed hard and was locking on scan disc, Slaved it in another PC and let scandisc doing its magic. Anyway, while I had the PC they rang a DSE store, a local repair outfit and a repair outfit in another town, told them all the "symptoms" got an over the phone diagnosis and decided it was the video chipset.....and when I returned it they wanted to know what I had done about the faulty video card :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed: Lmfao. Urgh my grandma is like that. I cleaned up her PC, put more ram in, disabled most the startup programs and installed malwarebytes and MSE. When I get back 2 weeks later "some IT guy" had charged her $100 to uninstall MSE and install AVG. He also uninstalled firefox with the thinking "its to hard for old people to use". Felt like going round his house and beating him with a club. Most people would realise that MSE is better than AVG and it doesn't cost $100 to uninstall and install a program. |
