1123103 2010-07-28 09:18:00 Have just received an email from Lavasoft about the latest version of Adaware.
It now has an antivirus and updated antimalware, etc.
It claims to be better than MSSE amd Malwarebytes, in speed and performance.
Has anyone any ideas about this and how good it is??:badpc:

1123104 2010-07-28 09:21:00 Why not suck it and see if you believe the claims? Snorkbox (15764)

1123106 2010-07-28 09:35:00 MSE 2 beta is out at the mo, and when thats final, it'll integrate with the firewall, have network protection (not available in XP tho), IE integration, and a new engine Speedy Gonzales (78)

Fair comment but would you expect me to un install my AV and install this Adaware effort and see how it goes?

I don't have a load of malware on my PC to test it on currently. Should I try Limewire or something for a while first?

At over 122 Mbs download it had better be good. Lol!

In fact I tried to download it today onto an older computer running Win ME. It was going to take 6 hours, (on my fast broadband) so I abandoned that idea. :waughh:

I too would be interested to know its pros and cons.

1123109 2010-07-28 10:18:00 Reading further on in the email, is a review from Preston Gralla of PC World in the US.
He says it is better than the previous version, but they have not lab-tested the AV side of it yet, and it does not have realtime protection. One has to manually scan the system, etc.
So, I will not be changing, and thanks to all, have learned a little more.:thanks

Where did you get the 122MB from ??

Just downloading the Pro and the total security - none are 122MB

Pro - 63MB Total Security = 389MB Downloading Apps and sizes (www.iforce.co.nz)
