1122718 2010-07-27 03:02:00 I have an older desktop here which has Win ME on.
It has 512 RAM. Will it be able to run XP ? I know it will be slow but no worries with that. Just having a play with different things on it at the moment.

1122724 2010-07-27 08:24:00 Xp runs on anything with 64mb RAM upwards and a remotely modern intel or AMD CPU. icow (15313)
1122725 2010-07-28 07:35:00 Xp runs on anything with 64mb RAM .

XP may think it can but believe me you don't want to run it on less than 512mb.

I agree, and will upgrade to more RAM when I can afford it.

512MB for XP should be fine IMO (256MB is minimally OK).
