2010-07-28 11:23:00 | Once again I will mention the airport extreme base station. It has been totally faultless in the 3 years I have had it. No problems at all in our two story residence. Yes it is at the upper limit money wise. +1, especially the Extreme, they're awesome! Even for Windows users!!

2010-07-28 23:43:00 | Remember to wall mount your router and point the aerial down, that way the radio waves go up & down, not out. | SP8's (9836) | |
2010-07-28 23:49:00 | I use these at work....www.data-alliance.net They are awesome!...they even power through the Ethernet switch, so I can move them around for the best location, but as they are so powerful, there is no need...Only about $160!

2010-07-28 23:58:00 | thanks guys. the house is using cat 5 cables so i suggested him to extend it to the top floor so wired & wireless acess point can be used. something like this www.xpcomputers.co.nz port_125mbps_with_ezsetup-5351 this way i have 1 wireles point on top floor and one on bottom floor through the original modem, i dont know if this will work?

2010-07-29 00:49:00 | [QUOTE=PENTIUM;934941 We have a 3 story house and get excellent wireless connections throughout. [/QUOTE] wifi as good as cable, phfffft :banana :banana :banana NO 2 multistory homes will be the same (they can be but u know what I mean) some sites NEVER have reliable wifi some wifi works perfectly where it just shouldnt (eg:with router in what is almost a faraday cage; eg: on the 3rd , 4th floor ) Moving aerials elsewhere in the room sometimes helps

If thats the case, you have to use the 2nd as a bridge to the 1st access point |

2010-07-29 00:58:00 | The GC model is crap, it's only 2MB. If you're going to do something like that you really want a device with 4MB Flash, to install most firmwares like Tomato / Gargoyle etc. DD-WRT will work with it, but it's not as nice IMO....
