837881 2009-12-08 23:01:00 The volcanoes in Auckland are a type that does not erupt in the same cone. Last one was rangi 800 years ago. Cycle estimated at 30 000 years and the cones are concentrated in one place just the isthmus no cones out west.
Cant wait for next one we need more scoria anyway.

837887 2009-12-09 08:06:00 Never felt it but got close on the office sweep to predict the magnitude. Some people feel them all but must have got desensitised living in Wanganui where we had a 6.7 when I lived there, a decent shake that was, knocked my chimney over. Twelvevolts (5457)
