837543 2009-12-08 22:31:00 Just use DVD Decrypter. It's the best one out there

837544 2009-12-08 22:42:00 DVD Decrypter is crap, It has no chance of dealing with modern encryption on DVD's, Likewise DVDShrink.

Development on both stopped years ago, Copy protection methods are updated constantly.

That doesn't mean this particular DVD will be uncopyable by DVD Decrypter. Certainly it's not hard to try.

If you are going to use it, turn off update checking. Otherwise your IP address will probably be logged by macrovision or whoever.

837546 2009-12-08 23:45:00 Hi guys

Just a report back. I used DVDFab and it decrypted it nicely, and I burned the file(s), not the ISO, with my standard burning program.

Buying a region-free DVD player just for one DVD - come on, are you serious? I think it was more the case of being able to get a DVD that she's been searching for for a long time, seeing that it had USA coding and taking the chance of getting someone to remove the coding. I mean, heck, I just gave her the original DVD and her copy.

No, It means there are far better free programs that should be recommended instead. Why point someone at something that has a good chance of not working when you can point them at something that is certain to work.

100% on the money! That's why you use a 3rd-party program which does the removing of the region encoding, and just use DVDShrink to "re-encode" it region-free :)

As a last resort you can always send it to me (I live in the US) and I can dvd-rip it for you with MY zone acceptance, strip off the regional and send them both back - for free for just the postage .

I have done this for friends in Germany and we just label the dvd something like this: "AUNT SARAH'S GALL BLADDER OPERATION" or "UNCLE FRED'S SEX CHANGE RESULTS" . and I liked this next one: "OUR RANCH : BULL CASTRATIONS" .

Somehow they slide right through customs .

837551 2009-12-09 00:22:00 Hey Joe, thanks for the offer, but I think our customs would get a bit suspicious with lots of "PF1membername enlargement operation video" on it.

LOL

837552 2009-12-09 01:49:00 I use 1ClickCopyPro in conjunction with DVD43 to resolve the problems you mentioned. I also have DVDFab6 which does the same thing without the need for DVD43. Zippity (58)
