| 838442 | 2009-12-10 06:47:00 | Just seen a shop advertising this. Is $75 for a quick cleanup overpriced? | xyz823 (13649) | ||
| 838443 | 2009-12-10 06:52:00 | I guess how long "quick" takes! And it depends what they do for a "clean up"? LL |

| 838446 | 2009-12-10 07:38:00 | Well how much can you get done in an hour? And I would never pay someone to fix my PC. | xyz823 (13649) | ||
| 838447 | 2009-12-10 07:40:00 | Depends whats wrong with it. You'll be surprised what CAN happen, and how long it can take. To fix it. If its malware its worse :p And longer if you do it remotely | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

If its malware its worse :p And longer if you do it remotely Well I rang up and asked...and the nice receptionist mumbled something about cookies and if theres a virus it goes up to $120. (She said she didn't really know what the guys do lol) Oh and its called "1 Hour PC TuneUp" |

| 838449 | 2009-12-10 07:54:00 | Cookies are normal. They're worse than down the road lol. They'll remove trojans for $50. If that takes an hour, they must be doing it file by file :p Or they're using someone else's hdd. If I check something out remotely that can take 5-6 hrs + . Altho that was fine, one guy did pay me after (IIRC he was from here) | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||

You can buy software for that, which will 'clean up' some things, but is a 'cean up' really needed, and does it actually make the PC perform better, I think not. Thus it is probably a waste of money. Reinstalling the OS is the best 'CleanUp' Perhaps they mean they will clean the insides of the PC, such as removing dust from the fans and vents etc. |

Do people actually pay those prices? |
