1124396 2010-08-03 22:11:00 Get rid of utorrent. That'll be the cause Speedy Gonzales (78)
1124397 2010-08-03 22:15:00 Also disable Utorrent on startup, it will more than likely be either downloading or seeding files which will slow things down.

Edited: SNAP --Speedy :)

how do i disable utorrent on start up?
bigamzz (15898)
1124400 2010-08-03 22:25:00 Remove its entry from startup by ticking it in that log, then tick fix checked. Or delete its entry in startup with ccleaner.

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [uTorrent] "C:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe". Or uninstall it. It maybe safe, its what you get with it that isnt

1124401 2010-08-03 22:33:00 i went into msconfig and disabled it from start up in there will that do? bigamzz (15898)
1124402 2010-08-03 22:33:00 is it definently utorrent? i was hesitent of intalling it but a friend told me its 100% safe No one can be 100% sure, but it wont be helping one little bit.

Removed frostwire from a customers PC yesterday, doing the same thing, instant speedup.

As for being safe -- Its mostly used for downloading pirated material, music, movies etc. (not all items are pirated but a high percentage are) There are legal torrents / Downloads.

Its not always the program thats the problem, its the content thats being downloaded/Seeded.
i went into msconfig and disabled it from start up in there will that do? Yep -- That should stop it from running. Reboot and see what happens ( speed wise)

1124403 2010-08-03 23:59:00 To disable it from start up ,Options/preferences/General and untick "Start UTorrent on Startup" Lawrence (2987)
