1123596 2010-07-31 11:26:00 Recently my computer has developed an annoying habit when I want to turn it off. I close all programmes then click the “turn off” button. I then get a window saying “end programme.” The two programmes it names are veohwebplayer and super anti spyware, neither of which are open. After I click “end now” it shuts down. How can I get my computer to turn off cleanly? Thanks JohnnyR (9277)
1123597 2010-07-31 11:32:00 Update both or uninstall them. Sounds like they're hanging on shutdown Speedy Gonzales (78)
1123598 2010-07-31 11:35:00 Yes it is hanging on shut down.

I update super anti spyware every week. I'll update the other one and see what happens.

Thanks JR

Is this likely to be the cause of it hanging?

1123603 2010-07-31 21:46:00 The two programmes it names are veohwebplayer and super anti spyware, neither of which are open.

But are the set to load on startup and run in the background? Take them out of startup.

1123604 2010-08-01 02:14:00 Or if the offending programs have been deleted and they are still hanging up (orphan registry entries etc), try this
technet.microsoft.com
(be careful with this :stare:).
