1124285 2010-08-03 06:57:00 Just wondering if anyone can help out with the above fonts. My daughter has an assignment at Uni which has to be done in this particular font, however, the only ones I can find are ridiculously expensive.

It's a design paper and if other fonts are used it means a fail .... absolutely bloody ridiculous, but them there's the rules apparently.

If anyone can help out or point me in the right direction, I'd be most appreciative ... might even buy you a Pint

1124286 2010-08-03 07:23:00 I have Helvetica as part of MS Word.
What is this assignment being written in, if its in Word its likely in all MS software.

Or scroll down on this page for some free ones.

1124287 2010-08-03 07:55:00 Thanks for the link DeSade, we're using Office Pro 2010 and Helvetica isn't in the font list I've tried Office 2003 & 2007 + Works 2000 & Publisher 95 ... Nothing.

Most of the fonts on the link you gave cost and not sure which one she needs ... expensive mistake if we get the wrong one.

Thanks anyway !!

1124289 2010-08-03 08:19:00 That's just plain weird ... it's not on Word 2010 Pro Academic. Might try the MS website and see if there's any font packs available there. SP8's (9836)
1124290 2010-08-03 08:30:00 I would get her to ask the tutor. Surely other students have had the same problem. Jen (38)
1124291 2010-08-03 08:37:00 According to some sites, most MS programs / software don't include Helvetica. But other programs do (Adobe programs may install it). And it looks like Helvetica is copyright, so MS used Arial instead Speedy Gonzales (78)
1124292 2010-08-03 08:46:00 Jen .... that's the first question she's going to ask tomorrow. The Helvetica "family" of fonts is around $1,400.00 because it's a "professional" typeset, but you can get certain sizes etc in packs of 20 or so for $20 - $30.

Speedy ... We've got Photoshop as well ... not included.

We'll see how we go tomorrow ... thanks everyone.

1124293 2010-08-03 08:58:00 Yes Helvetica is copyright and that is why Microsoft made Arial.

Its as close as and I dont think the university would expect your daughter to shell out that much. Its probably some ignorant tutor. Especially if Bill Gates could not afford to buy it!

I wonder why Helvetica did not sue them !
