841036 2009-12-18 22:22:00 My CD/DVD player won't turn on. I press the power button (on the unit or remote) and it displays SONY DVD on the display, the light changes from red to green, makes all the sounds like it usually makes, then turns off again (takes about a second from me pushing the button to it powering off again).

Its a Sony DCP-NC615 (if that means anything to anyone? :) ) The amp/tuner turns on fine.

Any suggestions on how I can get it going again? I've tried the other buttons as some of them also turn the power on, but all have the same result.

Thanks,
Mike.

841040 2009-12-20 00:07:00 According to the manual, it has a self-diagnosis mode, does it give any alphanumeric codes on the panel when started? If it does (and even if it doesn't ;)), ring your Sony repair facility. feersumendjinn (64)

841043 2009-12-20 03:33:00 If its under warranty get it repaired

If its not, open it up and take a look and see if you can see anything wrong. Bulging capacitors or burnt components would be obvious
