840788 2009-12-18 05:50:00 Hey people i feel pretty crap now. Not really sure what to do. i feel so ashamed to be here sharing my story. I am 19 years old college student who actually need a life. I don't have a girl friend anymore. She dumped me because i been playing world of warcraft every single day. I been going out with her ever since we were high school students and it's all over now because of gaming. I just can't stop playing!

My friends introduced the game to me last year and i have a level 80 warrior (yay). I can't blame my mates as it was my choice to keep playing or not.

now i been watching adult videos just to get me happy. I am very depressed and lonely.

Not sure what to do myself, i can't just quit world of warcraft like that.

By the way, any wow players here?

840790 2009-12-18 06:13:00 I think you should grow up and be a man about this, it is no one else's fault except your own. I don't think you will get sympathy on here if you can't even do the simple stuff like switch that crap game off gary67 (56)
840791 2009-12-18 06:16:00 Well, you are part way there Friend.

Step 1 Is to recognise you are addicted.

Step 2 Is to acknowledge the consequences (what you have lost).

Step 3 Is to ask for help. You are up to here already.

Step 4 Will be when you recognise that the answer has to come from within yourself and that other people can only offer encouragement.

Step 5 Is to turn off the computer and takes steps so that you can't just turn it on again. Take it somewhere and leave it while they delete WoW, and give them the disc as well, or cut it in half, which is even better and personally empowering.

Step 6 Is to begin reclaiming your life. Like drugs and alcohol, cold turkey is the best way and the pain doesn't last forever.

Then go out and enjoy your new life, see the sun, breathe the air, maybe even the girlfriend will see the changes and come back, who knows?

Be strong.

Cheers

840792 2009-12-18 06:19:00 I heard about a friend of mine in Indonesia whose friend was horribly addicted to WoW. Them being good friends, he took his friend's computer (yanked the whole thing off the wall etc), threw it outside, and another friend started to smash the crap out of it with a huge hammer.

I heard they're still good friends, and the addicted friend, addicted no more.

I think he deserves a bit of support rather than scorn. It's very easy to get hopelessly addicted to some things. :(

grahic, take the bull by the horns and follow Billy's advice right now and get your life back. And make a pact to stay away from all games or you will be right back at square one again.

Give yourself a week or so and you might suddenly realise you appreciate being free of her nagging.
