Then again that's why they get the big salaries :D I was discussing this very story with a colleague in Auckland today - we had an outbreak of it at work a few months back, and it was very messy to clean up. Problem seems to be the attack vector, as it will often use USB keys. You can tell people that ICT policy forbids the use of personal USB devices, but it's hard to enforce. And because most keyboards and mice are USB, locking down ports with Group Policy etc doesn't work. Removing one infection is pretty straight-forward; removing from 120 workstations and a few servers was a bit more difficult :p |
