Typical rubbish, no one I know ever said let criminals do what they want, it is the type of BS argument you get from people who can't defend their own position, mainly because the weight of evidence is against you. This victims bleating the SST does says the victim will feel better if the offender goes to jail for a long time. Apparently the victim will also feel better with a big donation of tax payers money, well who wouldn't. Evidence suggests a restorative Justice process is better for the victim than the demonising process the Socialist Sentencing Trust perpetuates. And you have it from Garth anyway that deterence doesn't work, so his whole philosophy is bankrupt to start off with. |

Crooks cant reform they are just career crooks until they get too old. Who is "we" in this case?? Every convicted murderer is locked up in New Zealand for at least ten years so what is your point? Contrary to your opinion, it is rare for a murderer to reoffend, which is why when they do it is a huge national story and rightly so. Some people who kill get supported by the SST and get off with less time in jail, but then apparently stabbing kids is considered acceptable by some, seemingly dependent of the race of the offender and the race of the victim. In the warped world of the SST it is ok if you're a white businessman and the victim is Pacific Island or Maori, but of course if it was the other way around, it's not ok and you should hang them. |
